Get to Know Me!

  • A little about me...

This is my 17th year teaching at AES and I absolutely love it!  I graduated from Illinois State University, earned my Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy from Benedictine University.  I also received my Reading Specialist certififation.  As a lifelong learner, I continue to take cotinuing education courses throughout the year.  I consider myself to be a challenging, nurturing, and a dedicated teacher.

Students quickly discover that I cannot resist sniffing books.  I love the scent of a brand new book and even a musty old book.  My passion has always been reading, and I attribute this to my parents for making books a natural and enjoyable part of our everyday lives.   I have enjoyed school my entire life, which is why it was important for me to become a teacher and pass my love of learning to all my students.

Once your children walk into my classroom, I treat them like they are my own children.  I truly fall in love with each of my students and respect them as individuals.   I will do everything in my power to pass on my love of learning to your children.  They will understand the importance of a great education and believe in themselves, just as much as I believe in them.

I am an Antioch resident and truly believe in and support District 34.  My son is a 5th grader at A.E.S. and my daughter is a 2nd grader.  I am invested in our district as a parent, teacher, and resident.  I stay involved on curriculum committees and serve on the Building Leadership Committee.

Do not hesitate to contact me about anything.  We are a team!  I always have time to discuss your child.  I am confident that this will be a spectacular school year, and look forward to building a fantastic relationship with you and your child.
