Students can be referred to ECAT through Early Intervention Services (EI.)
Students referred through EI may be recommended to complete a special education screening or they may be recommended for a full special education evaluation (depending on their most recent EI reports and family concerns.)
The ECAT team works collaboratively with EI therapists, coordinators, and families to determine the best route, and to ensure a positive and effective transition to the school setting. Students in EI typically begin the transition process around the age of 2 years 6 months.
