Understanding Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy (often abbreviated as OT), is a valuable department to various settings. However, our profession is often easily misunderstood or underutilized, due to many contributing factors. Personally and professionally, I find importance of sharing the significance of occupational therapy and main principles of our field. With a better understanding of our role, teams can maximize the scope of expertise occupational therapists (OTs) have to offer. The essential aim of a school-based occupational therapist is to promote student independence and functional engagement in daily school activities and routines.
