Our first grade team of teachers has collaborated to prepare engaging, fun, and (for the most part) independent learning activities for our 1st week of Remote Learning March 30-April 3. In order to be prepared for some of the activities we are planning, please use the home learning app for Seesaw that I sent home, if you haven't already done so. Please do not share the code with anyone. It will keep our class site more secure. If you need a new copy of the code, please send me an email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Per our administration, before the ISBE guidelines were released this weekend, our goal was to prepare about 5 hours of learning time per day. As a parent myself, I understand that is a lot of time…time that you may need to be working from home for your own job, time that you may need to be helping your other children with their Remote Learning assignments or any number of other things. Please do not add pressure to yourself seeing that each and every assignment posted get completed. The most important thing is to have your child reading each and every day. What doesn’t get done one day, can very easily be transferred to another day.
It is my plan to post the activities for the week on Sunday evening. Activites on Seesaw will post at 8:00am the day they are assigned. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please reach out. We are in this together and I am here to support you as best I can.
Stay healthy and enjoy this extra time with your kids,
